Ford’s VP of Global Product Development (wouldn’t you like a job title like that?) Derrick Kuzak announced at a Belgium press conference Lincoln is considering a Compact concept model to add to their larger car line-up. Kuzak states; “We do think that there is room for a smaller car in the Lincoln brand…” – Really? Last we saw the Lincolns tend to draw those who like a plush, full size vehicle. But in these days of fuel consumption woes and the Green movement, it probably woudn’t be a bad idea of any auto maker to consider moving towards the world of small cars.

No specific plans were announced, and it is unclear if Lincoln would receive their own compact design model or just a rebranded Ford compact (Maybe another version of the Ka?) – Speaking of which, Kuzak also mentioned that tiny European vehicle in Belgium, taking back his statements from earlier in the summer that Ka may become a North American vehicle. He now says Ford has no plans of bringing the Ka stateside.
